Lecturer: Matthias Gross

Target group: Doctoral and Master students with a particular interest in environmental / sustainability topics and inter- and transdisciplinary research

Workshop description:
Doctoral and master's students students with a particular interest in environmental / sustainability topics and inter- and transdisciplinary research can get to know relevant journals and their editors better in this series of workshops. In this way, the participants should be able to find out more about journals (target direction, next issues / focal points, assessment procedures, etc.) and be able to talk to editors. Once per semester, GradZ invites an editor of a relevant journal to report on his / her work and role as editor. This provides an opportunity to discuss with an experienced editor about e.g. peer review processes, success factors and pitfalls when publishing a good paper or about how constructive feedback can help in the writing process and paper development. One focus is on interdisciplinary journals.

About the lecturer:
Matthias Gross is professor for environmental sociology at the University of Jena. He is also founder and editor of the journal "Nature + Culture"
